by | Oct 3, 2024

n September we took part in Dublin City Councils History festival event – this event included a walk by well-known local historian Terry Fagan author of “Monto Madams, Murder and Black Coddle” chronicles the history and reminiscences in a part of Dublin rich in the memories of its people.  We also hosted a new exhibition of local history on the walls of our bars – included in this is the history of nearby Luke Kelly Bridge, North Strand bombings, DWD Whiskey Distillery and local legend Bram Stoker influence on Dracula.

Our guest speaker, well known local historian Terry author of “Monto – Inner City” presented a talk on Dublins inner city tenements.  He was joined by Sean Deegan from In The Shadow of Croker walking tour.

The evening and history exhibition was well attended and proved to be a fantastic success.
